INTERVIEWS AND ARTICLES: "BOXCAR RACER
SHOOTS VIDEO & PLANS HANDFUL OF SHOWS" Singer/guitarist Tom DeLonge has gone hippie, boy band and even naked for Blink-182 videos, but for the first clip with his new side project, he's sticking with punk rock. DeLonge and his bandmates (Blink drummer Travis Barker, Over My Dead Body guitarist Dave Kennedy and bassist Anthony Celestino) filmed the clip on Thursday at a studio in Burbank, California, with director Nathan "Karma" Cox, whose resume includes videos for Linkin Park and System of a Down. "I Feel So" is from Boxcar Racer's self-titled debut album, due May 14. DeLonge wrote all of the material, played guitar and bass, and sang almost all of the vocals on the record, which was produced by longtime Blink associate Jerry Finn (Green Day, Sum 41). In January, he described Boxcar Racer as a tribute to Fugazi, Refused and Blink-182 (see "Blink-182's Tom DeLonge Salutes His Roots On New Album"). Blink singer/bassist Mark Hoppus contributes guest vocals on the album, along with Rancid's Tim Armstrong and New Found Glory's Jordan Pundik, who appear on a track tentatively titled "Don't Leave Her." Song titles have not been finalized, according to the spokesperson. Boxcar Racer will promote their album with a few California shows before
