Biography
Even though he was born at Fermont on April 23rd 1979, Ryan grew up at San Jose CA. Before joining the Distillers band, he was working in a shop. Ryan was actually a guitarist, but the abovementioned band was in desperate need of a bassist, which he learned to play in just one year considering the fact that Andy wanted him in the group's formation!

Ryan's very first instrument was a saxophone, with which he even atempted the "Matlock" theme at the "Talent Show". When a kid, his mother used to sing him John Denver's song at night. The group which made him love rock as a music style was Guns 'n' Roses. He listens to the Cure, Sonic Youth, Depeche Mode, Bad Brains, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lithium Milkshake, Kaos... and mostly Jonny Cash! In fact he actually loves every kind of music except for Jazz!

Ryann is married to Heather Sutherland, a talented stylist and tattoo woman. Ryan hates ice-creams; he has a collection of all sort of dead things and, to bring good luck, he always caries a thumb's bone. It seems like it is working for him!
